CMIR, Life of a J-School Student at UF

I have everything to be thankful for because of the University of Florida. During my three years in Gainesville, I have had the awesome opportunity to dive into the different aspects the Center for Media Innovation has to offer.

It started during my freshman year. As a radio 1, I had the chance to report on real-world stories for the first time in my life. It was where I learned that reporting news wasn’t my strong suit, but I needed to stick through it to get to where I wanted to be.

After that, I learned the aspects of television reporting. The INC and the professors in there taught me everything I know, which may or may not be a lot. But still, the amount of patience and time the mentors in the newsroom have taken to groom me into a journalist is greatly appreciated.

With that, and all the experience I have been blessed with, I’m able to put together reels and stories that I am proud of, including this story about Hawthorne High School and their fight to stay open.

In addition to that, I’m thankful to have a sports reel I am proud to show off. So here’s to the J-School, the INC and everyone in there!
